What is iGHOSTA?
iGHOSTA is a free private messenger for Android, developed by Dcodex. Messages and photos are end-to-end encrypted, there is no last seen, and messages disappear automatically.
Is iGHOSTA available on Google Play?
iGHOSTA is launching soon on Google Play. Check www.ighosta.com for the latest download information.
Is iGHOSTA free?
Yes. iGHOSTA is free to use and there are no ads in chat.
Do I need a phone number to use iGHOSTA?
No. You sign in with Google and connect with people by their @username. No phone number is needed.
How are my messages encrypted?
Messages and photos are end-to-end encrypted on your phone using X25519 key exchange and AES-256-GCM, so only you and the person you are chatting with can read them.
Does iGHOSTA show my last seen?
No. iGHOSTA has no last seen. Your online status is shown only briefly to your contacts.
How long are messages kept?
Messages disappear automatically. Text messages are deleted after 30 days. Photos are deleted 1 hour after they are seen, or after 24 hours if they are not seen.
What is Ghost Mode?
Ghost Mode hides your name, photo and chat from your contacts without deleting your messages. Turn it off and everything is back.
Can people take screenshots of my chats?
iGHOSTA includes screenshot protection to help stop screenshots of your conversations.
Can I lock my chats?
Yes. You can set a chat lock PIN. There is also an optional Calculator privacy lock that disguises the app as a calculator, with a Guest mode.
Do notifications show my message text?
No. iGHOSTA notifications never show the message text.
What happens if I change my phone?
iGHOSTA offers an encrypted key backup protected by your own password, so you can restore your encryption keys on a new phone.
Can I block or report someone?
Yes. You can block and report any user directly from the app.
Who can use iGHOSTA?
iGHOSTA is for adults aged 18 and over.
